2017 is here! New Year brings hope for a new beginning, zeal to work on fresh ideas, excitement to do innovative things, motivation to accomplish goals and courage to overcome the failure.
So, are you ready for an amazing 2017? I think we all are!
This is the time of the year when we feel optimistic about the days and months to come. So, it is great to think now what all you want to accomplish this year.
Committing to a new years resolution is a good start but I believe that setting actionable goals is much better. Wondering how? Here are some quick points:
Resolutions v/s Goals
In the resolution, we usually focus on what we don’t have to do whereas Goals are all about what you want to do. So, Goals have more positive vibes.
When we set a resolution, we do not actually plan how we are going to achieve it. This leads to demotivation to continue further in few weeks or months. In Goals, we not only plan the ends but all the means. This keeps us focused and driven throughout the year.
Goals are measurable so you can know how far have to reached at any point in time. It’s a great motivation to continue working for it!
So, Instead of committing to a resolution, I set goals for myself every year. This year I have 3 goals to achieve.
#1: Blog More
#2: Complete my PMP certification
#3: Start working in the German language
Here is a quick video on my goals for 2017. Do let me know what you think!
My kids are now a year old. They will start going to KITA (that’s what they call Crèches in German) from this month. So, now I am all set to get back to work!
I will start contacting my existing clients and reaching out to new prospects from next month. And, of course, I will continue working on my goals of the year.
Do share with me your plans for this year. And, if you have any advice or opinions about my goals, I would love to hear that!
Wish you all a great year ahead.
See you around.
